Oliver Sacks and Stereo Vision
I have been hired by Knopf to put together several web videos that are based on interviews with Oliver Sacks, M.D. about his upcoming book THE MIND'S EYE. It is always a pleasure to spend time with him -- he is an incredible storyteller and I just love to sit and listen. I am hoping that the interviews I have shot with him over the years will become part of a web based documentary that I will make about him, but that is still off in the distance somewhere.
Today, I have been editing an interview I shot in June with Dr. Sacks and Sue Barry (a.k.a Stereo Sue)! Until the age of 48, Sue saw everything though one eye and as a flat plain. At 48 she underwent extensive eye therapy and she gained stereo vision. Dr. Sacks has always had incredible stereo vision, but lost it due to an eye tumor at the age of 75.
Oliver and Sue had a heck of a time talking about their own visual experiences and playing around with various stereoscopes...

I'll let you know when this video is out in the world for public consumption....
